International Transfer Budget Planner — Monthly Cost Breakdown

Planning a year of recurring international transfers means knowing your monthly cost, not just a single quote. This planner builds a month-by-month cost breakdown for your corridor and sending frequency, using live provider data.

How it works

Enter your corridor, amount, sending frequency, and current provider.

The planner fetches your live per-transfer fee from RemitRoutes' comparison API and multiplies it by your monthly send count.

It shows an even month-by-month cost distribution across the year, plus a comparison against the cheapest available provider.

Methodology

Monthly cost = live per-transfer fee × sends-per-month, where sends-per-month is derived from frequency: weekly ≈4.33/month, bi-weekly ≈2.17/month, monthly 1/month, quarterly ≈0.33/month.

Every month in the plan uses the same live fee snapshot captured when the plan was built, so the chart shows an even distribution across the year rather than projecting future rate changes.

The "best available" comparison is the lowest per-transfer fee among all providers returned by the API for the corridor and amount at plan-build time — traditional and crypto providers compete on equal footing.

If the selected provider isn't present in that day's live results for the exact corridor and amount, the planner falls back to the average fee across all traditional providers and marks the plan "(estimated average)" rather than inventing a number.

A "switch frequency" optimization tip appears only when the current per-send fee, multiplied by the difference in send count between weekly and monthly cadence, exceeds a meaningful threshold — using the same live fee figure as the rest of the plan.

Worked example

Worked example: Sending $1,000 from USD to INR, the cheapest measured route today is CoinDCX at 2.77% better than the mid-market rate (a measured premium, not a cost) — about $27.70 more than a mid-market transfer on $1,000, as of July 18, 2026. Rates are refreshed every 6 hours from live provider data.

Frequently asked questions

How is the month-by-month breakdown calculated?

We take your live per-transfer fee (fetched from the comparison API for your chosen corridor and amount) and multiply it by your sends-per-month figure — weekly ≈4.33/month, bi-weekly ≈2.17/month, monthly 1/month, quarterly ≈0.33/month. Every month uses the same live fee snapshot from when you built the plan, so the chart shows an even distribution across the year rather than projecting future rate changes.

Where does the "best available" comparison come from?

It is the lowest per-transfer fee among all providers returned by the API for your corridor and amount at the time you built the plan — traditional and crypto providers are compared on equal footing and the true cheapest one wins, whatever type it is.

Why is my current provider sometimes shown as an estimate?

If your selected provider isn't present in that day's live results for your exact corridor and amount, the planner falls back to the average fee across all traditional providers and marks the plan "(estimated average)" rather than inventing a number for a provider that didn't return a quote.

Does the optimization tip account for real fee differences?

Yes — the "switch frequency" tip only appears when your current per-send fee, multiplied by the difference in send count between weekly and monthly cadence, exceeds a meaningful threshold. It uses the same live fee figure as the rest of the plan, never a hypothetical one.
